SnowCrash is a diverse and vibrant ecosystem and community with a high degree of autonomy. SnowCrash is a play-to-earn gaming platform wherein players can build avatars to play and get rewarded thereon. SnowCrash offers MetaVoxel, a completely decentralized world (Metaverse) inspired by Minecraft and built with infinite voxels. MetaVoxel is controlled via a DAO, the native virtual company in MetaVoxel. With DAOs, users can decide and vote on how the Meta world works.
According to its whitepaper, players can mine and build what they want in MetaVoxel. There are many islands in MetaVoxel; some contain a large number of ores (like iron, stone, etc.) and some rare treasures (like gold, diamonds, ancient fossils, etc.). Players can use mining tools to build or sell houses in exchange for other valuable items. There are some islands with beautiful environments and many animals and plants, which are suitable for players to settle down, set up, and run their own virtual companies.
Thus, in MetaVoxel, a player controls the virtual company, and the virtual company controls SnowCrash Space. SnowCrash Space is completely open-source, and its creators and maintainers are a diverse mix of software developers, designers, game testers, graphic artists, musicians, and open source-loving college students. The platform encourages everyone for their contributions and welcomes newcomers as warmly as possible. Also, the term SnowCrash is taken from Neil Stephenson's novel "Snow Crash.” In the novel, SnowCrash is a "language virus.”
Nora is the community governance token for the SnowCrash DAO. Nora is a meme token. A meme coin is a meme-based cryptocurrency often created as a joke. Players can trade Nora on exchanges or earn Nora by completing tasks in the game. Players in MetaVoxel can use Nora to trade land, islands, commodities, and various raw materials. The platform wants Nora to be a truly community-driven project.
