Coinbase Onramp Sandbox Testing Is Now Available

June 11, 2025

TL;DR Developers around the world can now test debit card transactions through Coinbase Onramp—no debit card required.

Coinbase Onramp is designed to make it simple for developers to help users convert local fiat to crypto inside their apps.

Today, we’re launching the Coinbase Onramp Sandbox, a new environment that lets developers test the Guest Checkout experience without needing a US debit card. Onramp Sandbox removes friction during integration testing and makes the experience more accessible:

  • No US debit card required to test the flow

  • No need to request special access or test accounts

With Sandbox Onramp, teams can build and test better fiat-to-crypto onboarding experiences—no matter where you are in the world.

What is Onramp Sandbox?

Coinbase Onramp Sandbox is a dedicated non-production environment that mimics the Guest Checkout user flow. Developers can now test this flow end-to-end without needing an eligible debit card. We’ve also added support for testing the one-blick-buy flow by appending query parameters:

Once you have a Coinbase Developer Portal account and API key, you can use the sandbox flow creating a https://pay-sandbox.coinbase.com/ URL, for example:

https://pay-sandbox.coinbase.com/?appId=1492f9ed-46d5-4f85-b547-c888a9981625&addresses={"0x128835048d008e5b65d42e89bbb867e82910b31f":["ethereum","base"]}&defaultNetwork=base&defaultAsset=USDC&presetFiatAmount=100

And coming soon: fetch test transactions via the public Onramp Transaction Status API.
