Investment risk
Baseline risk: All crypto-assets are risky, regardless of the type of token you hold. Here are some 'baseline' risks to be aware of before deciding to invest.
Investment risk: The performance of most crypto-assets can be highly volatile, with their value dropping as quickly as it can rise. You should be prepared to lose all the money you invest in crypto-assets.
Lack of protections: Crypto-assets are largely unregulated and neither the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) nor the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) will protect you in the event something goes wrong with your crypto-asset investments.
Crypto-assets are complex: It may be difficult to understand the risks associated with a crypto-asset investment. Do your own research and if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
Don't put all your eggs in one basket: Putting all your money into a single type of investment is risky. Spreading your money across different investments makes you less dependent on any one to do well. A good rule of thumb is not to invest more than 10% of your money in high-risk investments such as crypto-assets.

FAQ
Adventure Gold (AGLD) is the native ERC-20 token of the Loot non-fungible token (NFT) project. The Loot project is a unique, text-based, randomized adventure gear generated and stored on-chain, with no front-end interface, images, statistics, or functionality. Adventure Gold was launched and was designed to serve as a currency for the decentralized gaming universe. Each owner of a Loot NFT was able to claim 10,000 AGLD tokens as part of the project's initial distribution. The project was initiated by Will Papper, a Stanford University graduate and crypto-native, who also co-founded Syndicate DAO, a decentralized investing protocol.
Adventure Gold operates within the Loot NFT game, with the community building on top of Loot as a form of endorsement. The uniqueness of Loot inspired the Web3 community to create numerous derivative projects based on its code. Adventure Gold is intended to be used as a governance token, allowing users to vote on future in-game credits or future mints building on top of Loot and adopting AGLD. Adventure Gold is an ERC-20 token on Ethereum, utilizing a proof-of-work consensus mechanism that requires miners to mine new Ether. A set of decentralized nodes validates transactions and maintains the Ethereum blockchain.
Adventure Gold seeks to set a standard for projects building on Loot by providing a currency for the decentralized gaming universe. It aims to be used as a governance token, allowing users to vote on future in-game credits or future mints building on top of Loot and adopting AGLD. This gives the community a say in the direction and development of the project. The token can also be used within the Loot NFT game, adding another layer of interaction and engagement for players.
Adventure Gold was launched by Will Papper, who is also the co-founder of Syndicate DAO, a decentralized investing protocol. Papper is a graduate of Stanford University and a crypto-native, having owned Ethereum since the 2014 pre-sale. He created Adventure Gold in response to Vitalik Buterin endorsing the project and encouraging others to build upon it. Papper launched AGLD one day after receiving an endorsement from Buterin, by writing the majority of the code in four hours at a small airport in Oregon. Adventure Gold's development team currently consists only of Papper.
