Xend Finance platform is a decentralized credit union protocol created with the aim to enhance, optimize, and add value to the major operations related to credit unions worldwide. The platform provides decentralized savings, borrowings, lending, and trading operations of credit unions and offers interest returns to the associates of the unions.
One of the significant issues with conventional credit unions is that they are location-based, which means that every member must be available in a specific geographical region to become a fragment of a credit union. They also have a low APY (annual percentage yields). Another problem is that the small credit unions can only access a negligible amount of liquidity. Henceforth, they offer small loans implying high-interest rates. Xend Finance removes these barriers by offering a location-agnostic protocol accessible from any part of the world. Xend Finance provides a platform for cooperatives, credit unions, and individuals worldwide to obtain high interests on their savings in stable currencies.
The platform gives unrestricted membership to users across the world. Users can benefit from decentralized insurance for asset protection. Individuals and credit unions can store their money, borrow in stable and foreign digital currencies, and earn interest. The platform instantly provides access to individuals and credits unions to their funds without including any intermediary.
XEND is the native token of the Xend Finance network. The Xend tokens are employed on the platform for rewarding users for trading, saving, and carrying out various activities on the network. The native blockchain of the platform charges the credit union a nominal gas fee to build a union on the smart contract, which is paid as XEND tokens. A proportion of the fee is utilized for trading back the tokens for adding liquidity to the Xend Finance protocol. Moreover, the platform’s governance is implemented by the token holders of XEND.
The mainnet launch of Xend Finance took place in 2021, with the public token sale taking place in the same year. Ugochukwu Aronu is the founder of Xend Finance and acts as the CEO of platform.
The total supply of XEND tokens is two hundred million.
