Feathercoin (FTC) is an open-source cryptocurrency project forked from Litecoin in 2018. The developers of Feathercoin claim that Feathercoin is ten times faster than Bitcoin and utilizes a block hashing algorithm known as NeoScrypt, which is an own modified version of the project when scripted. In addition to this, an enhanced Hash Rate Compensation (eHRC) algorithm is utilized for ensuring blocks occur at an average of 60 seconds and 40 FTC per block is rewarded.
Feathercoin also implements an automatic checkpointing system that assists in protecting miners from any manipulation in the blockchain history. FTC also plays a vital role in preventing attacks from reversing transactions upon the network. The developers also claim that Feathercoin is a customized and upgraded version of Bitcoin. Users have easy access to two wallets (Electrum and FeathercoinCore) that work at an increased block-processing speed.
