Cheqd is a permissionless authentic data network that aims to enable new business models for verifiable credentials. The objective of cheqd is to make authentic data private, secure, accessible, commercially sustainable, and inclusive through a token. The mission is to create the go-to incentivized decentralized identity network for digital credentials that rewards parties in the ecosystem. Cheqd seeks to provide users with three solutions; first, a public permissionless network where certificates of self-sovereign identity can be read and issued. Second, CHEQ is a token of cheqd that aims to permit holders, issuers, receivers, and node operators to pay each other for digital credentials without compromising users' security and privacy. Last, a suite of backend software tools and mobile.
The platform aims to become a de-facto payment mechanism for trusted data and give people and companies back their control of data and privacy.
Additionally, the features of the platform are;
Introducing self-sovereign identity (SSI) in the platform is a user-centric and user-controlled approach to authentic exchange information. The asset has a governance framework that aims to provide accessible and democratic ways to influence decisions and bring changes achieved through clear communication, transparency, and inclusivity. At cheqd, governance seeks to combine four parts: law guidelines, principles and social norms, markets and economy, and architecture.
The CEO and cofounder of cheqd is Fraser Edwards. Ankur Banerjee is also a cofounder of cheqd. Further, the CFO of the platform is Javed Khattak.
