About JUNO
"Juno is a global, open source, permission-less network for decentralized interoperable applications. Anyone can create & use inter-chain applications on Juno. The ecosystem is pioneering CosmWasm development and adoption, allowing developers to deploy secure & robust inter-chain smart contracts in Rust. The Juno proof of stake blockchain is built using the Cosmos SDK and reaches network agreement via Tendermint Consensus. The network is governed by delegators, who vote in changes via on-chain governance. All network processes are fueled by $JUNO the native asset of the network. Juno had its decentralized network launch on the 1st of October 2021. CosmWasm Smart Contracts we live on December 15th 2021."

FAQ
Juno (JUNO) is a community-driven open-source platform serving as a decentralized and permissionless approach for developers to launch smart contracts. Smart contracts are just like regular contracts; however, instead of being drafted on paper, these contracts run in the form of protocols on the blockchain. The network aims to install interoperable smart contracts automatically executing, controlling, or documenting events and actions according to the contract terms.
The Juno network seeks to operate as the sovereign public blockchain in the Cosmos ecosystem, which is an ecosystem of interoperable and sovereign blockchain applications. Also, Juno aims to be the unbiased hub of CosmWasm interoperable smart contracts and the InterWasm DAO (decentralized autonomous organization). Here, CosmWasm is a library providing all modular code needed for building smart contracts that can run on multiple chains within the Cosmos ecosystem, and InterWasm is a community-driven organization that drives the Cosmos ecosystem’s growth.
CosmWasm seeks to allow users to use friendly, dynamic, and safe languages to write high-performing and secure smart contracts. These contracts can be further deployed to multiple blockchains and even communicate across blockchains via inter-blockchain communication, i.e., IBC. Additionally, Juno, as a layer 1 smart contract network, seeks to address the first-generation smart contract constraints of limited scalability, expensive deployment, and execution costs. It aims to provide a simple environment for developers all around the world to quickly construct scalable, safe, decentralized apps (DApps).
As per the whitepaper, the network has JUNO as the native utility token functioning on proof-of-stake (PoS) consensus algorithm, aiming to power the entire Juno ecosystem. The token has the primary utility of on-chain governance. The token also plays a crucial role in implementing smart contracts while acting as the transport fuel for the same. The JUNO token can also be used as collateral in smart contract usage and as a work token to capture value from decentralized applications (DApps) built on the network.
The Juno network was built by $ATOM holders (Cosmos Ecosystem). JUNO has a maximum supply of 185,562,268 tokens.
